Three Things Thursday--Post Marathon Edition

  1. In case you didn't remember or catch it, I completed my first marathon on Sunday.  Yes, I am still flying high from the experience!  I am also able to walk normally again.  I can even get up to a brisk walk with no trouble!  If it weren't for this pesky ankle/foot pain (I broke my ankle a little over 4 years ago and it seems like after really long distances the inflammation really irritates a nerve or two) I would be planning my next run.
  2. Check out this picture from my finish at the race.  Have you ever seen a happier person crossing the finish line.  Its funny though, because the next picture on ASI's website is me wiping my tears away.

  4. I must be a glutton for punishment.  I am ready to sign up for my next marathon.  I am even going to try and persuade a few people to join me (Courtney, Katye, Wendy, TMB, Katie, Liz--you guys interested?  It will be fun and there are lots of cute Marines manning the water stations!)  Are you planning on the Marine Corp Marathon??
Happy Running (or resting) to you all!

I'm interested, in theory. I'm in the lottery for NYC and I don't really want to commit to anything else before I find out about that one. And I know MCM sells out fast.

I'm training for my first marathon in May. Super nervous!
I would love run MCM with marines passing out water at every station! I'm sure they would LOVE me, too. Sweaty, out of breath and bright red...what's not to love? : )

Ask me again after the National Marathon in March. If I get through that uninjured . . . I am in! I have run the 10K with a charity team for the archdiocese of washington, and will run the marathon for/with them so I will not have to rush and register on "opening day".

And yes, that race is FUN! If you have never run the MCM 10K or MCM I highly suggest it!

I'm going to give it some serious thought...

If I run the Maryland Half (if I survive training for the National...shesh. Speed work is KILLING me) I'll already have a decent base and 5 months to train...
