So I'm on 2/day for the week leading up to the race, and on race day I'll take 2 before and 2 during (if I manage not to lose them on the course!)

Best of luck! I'll be thinking of you and your shins Saturday - hopefully it keep me from going crazy with nerves :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3769770340431980151.post-39593190234940678352010-10-03T13:51:54.012-04:002010-10-03T13:51:54.012-04:00wow...out of nowhere? that's so frustrating! ...wow...out of nowhere? that's so frustrating! i used to get them when i played basketball. the sprinting and stopping all the time. i just did stretches and iced. i'm sure compression would be a huge help. hope it feels better soon!dawn @ running the dawnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16189689892227962182noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3769770340431980151.post-82212633429672169102010-10-03T11:48:01.381-04:002010-10-03T11:48:01.381-04:00I would be back in those old shoes faster than you...I would be back in those old shoes faster than you can blink. the last time I got shin splints it was about 10 after getting new shoes - I took those babies right back to the store for a full refund. They even have TNT purple ;)

With only 15 days left, I don't know if the exercises will help, but they're good for the long term. I've never had them again - not sure if it's those exercises or just got used to running and used to my shoes!
